Monsters Went "Boo!"
It was a dark and windy night. The moon was hidden by clouds, and the only light came from glowing stars. Children were tucked safely in their beds, but deep in the woods, something strange was about to happen. Suddenly, a big monster with glowing eyes peeked out from behind a tree. He had pointy teeth and scaly skin.
"Boo!" he yelled. Other creatures emerged from the trees, all shouting "Boo!" at the same time. They were having so much laughter scaring each other! One little critter was shy. He didn't want to say "Boo!" because he thought it would be too frightening. But then, a big beast with a kind smile said, "Don't worry, little one. It's just for fun! Let's all say 'Boo!' together." And so they did, laughing and having a great time on this fun Halloween night.
My Friend the Friendly Ghost
It all started one rainy afternoon. I was reading in my room when I heard a weird noise. It sounded like someone was giggling just outside my door. Curious, I slowly crept over and peeked through the keyhole. There, standing in my hallway, was the most unusual sight!
It was a medium-sized ghost with bright eyes and a friendly face. "Hello," it said. "My name is Fred, and I'm your new friend!"
I was so shocked that I could barely speak. But then, I started to laugh because his sound was so nice.
We became the best of friends. He would often come in my room and we would read together. He even taught me how to levitate!

That Friendly Phantom
When I first/began/started to see him, I was terrified. He was always there, watching/looking/peeking from the corner of my eye, but he never showed/appeared/came close. My parents thought I was being silly, but I knew better. This wasn't a game.
This invisible friend, who I named Zippy, was actually quite nice. He would whisper jokes/make funny noises/tell silly stories in my ear and he was always there to give me a boost. Now, looking back, I think he was just a lonely little ghost/spirit/phantom who wanted a friend too.
